My husband loses his temper very quickly these days. He has said some very hurtful things to me and our kids. Does this have something to do with Parkinson's? I find myself becoming very resentful.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. My husband often says things he wouldn't have said before. He has been Dx'd with Lewy Body Dementia. He gets so frustrated or he clams up and won't say any thing. I don't always know how to answer or help him. I try not to take it personal.

Hi yes angry, frustrated, aggressive and demanding. This is why I joined this group because I was not coping with these traits. My son and zi decided not to take these outbursts personally. However I took him out for coffee when he was lucid and explained how hurtful he had become and that he needed to stop watching negative things on the TV, be greatful for what he has snd that I would stop negative talk by raising my hand in a time out gesture. It took us nearly 1 year to get this implemented and although there are still times when there are outbursts the aggressive behaviour is 100% better. The micro managing of those around him is still a problem. But we will manage that as a team without belittling him. Not easy but doable. I hope this is useful information

Sometimes I get angry and say things I shouldn't have said. Angry that I will never feel good again, angry at God for not healing me, angry that others don't know how PARKY such a cruel disease.

Glad to hear I am not alone with my PD spouse. He normally has a short temper but with additional medication I think it's gotten worse. I usually ask him why he's yelling at me and he says it's because of me. I am losing my patience but try to remember its the disease. It's hard.
