How do you feel when you wake up? Anything help with the morning stiffness, pain after sleeping? I'm waking up now with pains and stiffness in both arms, shoulders to hands. Sore to move. Legs also, most in the upper legs. Tried sinemet before bed but sometimes can't sleep after.
I have the same problem in the morning. I use a small walker to get to the bathroom. Once I shower, where I have grab bars, & get dressed, & take my cardbidopa levo doppa I no longer need the walker. My stiffness & balance has improved.
I have the same problem plus don’t sleep very well, when I wake up in the morning I lay in bed for about 20 minuets just stretching my legs and slowly moving my body I have found this helps me when I finally get out of bed..
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member -- Try taking the sinemet when you wake up - before you get up - then doze for 20 minutes or so until you feel that it has taken effect. Then see how well you manage the process of getting going.
I also am very stiff & bent over when I get up. I can hardly get one foot in front of the other. I make myself a cup of coffee & try to enjoy it while I unkink myself. I do 15 squats, I stretch myself out by reaching up & touching the top of the door frame & counting to 60, leg lifts, 20, sit-ups 15 & sit-then stand with my arms across my chest. Works for me. Pain in my legs is there 24/7 but at least i'm up & moving. Don't know what is causing the pain in my leg muscles. Maybe osteo-arthritis. I go to my rheumatologist next week. Have a good day EVERYONE & enjoy your coffee
I find a long soak in the bath just before bedtime helps relax my muscles. I only take sinemet during the day. I do however take ropineral slow release at bedtime also one of my venlafaxine.
Best wishes
