I am always short of breath and my neurologist said that the diaphragm is affected by PD. I don't have any heart or lung issues as they have been checked and rechecked. Does anyone else have this problem and been told it is their diaphragm? Of course, being short of breath makes me quite tired so I can't do the things I want or need to get done.
I find that Yoga helps me with the breath.
Thank you, Brumus. I will ask the neurologist when I see him again in March. Also, thank you for adding me to your team. Delores
I feel like that mostly towards the end of the day I think it's the meds that causes thst with the dyskinesia
I too have had the heart stress tests and they all came back normal. And my lungs are clear as well. I am going to ask my neurologist about ventilatory dysfunction which was discussed in a book by Guilleaume Bailee regarding Parkinson's. Will see what he says.
I am also dealing with shortness of breath. While doing any type of chore, I have to lay down for a bit until I get my breath back. I also have to rest after showering and doing my hair. It has become a big project. My neurologist said it is not a symptom of PD and suggested I see a cardiologist. I did go to a cardiologist and had several tests done which all came back normal. It's very frustrating because I can hardly do anything without needing several breaks.
