A simple meal that used to take me 20 minutes to cook, now takes 2 hours. Not to mention an hour to eat it!
I also still cook. If I don’t want to cook, my husband will.
I make some dishes in my slow cooked. Usually last 2 days. I also buy some frozen meals in a bag. Not much cleanup. When I shop I get something that is easy to cook.
I am thinking about doing my shopping on line. That way I won’t use up all my energy.
I barely cook at all now, but when I do, I have a little cart that's on wheels in my kitchen that I can roll heavy things around on. For example, a pan of boiling water if I'm making pasta since my stove is across the kitchen from my sink. It also comes in handy when I try to set the table as I can set everything on it and just push it over to the table. It also makes clean up easier. I also have a high bench that I have next to my counter for when I have to work there. All these things help.
My wife would like me to cook more. .. I made spaghetti today for some Parkinson's friends, the wife/caretaker had knee surgery this week and I signed up to deliver a meal. ...Last night I helped make a tossed salad. Salad is my usual meal to make. I used to make omelets a lot. Other than occasional break through tremors, and failing eyesight, there isn't much I need to do to compensate for Parkinson's when it comes to making meals and cooking. Yet.
Great tip. Thank you for sharing
I’m with the people who state they cook. I use to like to however it takes me 2hours to make it an hour to eat and some one has to help me clean up after because I drop everything and make a big mess even a simple sandwicg
