My dad was diagnosed with PD (about 8 years ago). None of the medications have worked, so thought it time to switch doctors. My Dad was diagnosed with PD. He had a sudden onset of confusion-severe (he didn't know he was home), couldn't walk, talk and barely stand. While in the hospital, he became agitated and had a break down. He tried to hit a aide and he has times where he is not Dad. He is agitated and mean. I think he is just so frustrated, but after 4 neurologists we never got a good diagnosis. PD is gradual. Dad went to the gym on a Monday with no walker, was intelligible and by Wed. had unintelligible speech, severe cognitive problems, couldn't walk and barely stand. As far as the agitation, he was given Seroquel and Xanax, which seems to help. Sorry, I can't give you more info. I hope maybe the meds might offer you some help? Best wishes, Tedi
I get some confusion,, but not that severe. I find trying to figure out some technology issues that I could manage before, eg. internet and TV problems are the hardest to figure out, but only on certain days, not all the time, so overall, I must admit that I am lucky because I have had it for almost eight years.
