My husband and I both have the homozygous MTHFR mutation and we both had neurological symptoms. Mine completely reversed since I have been doing 5,000 mcg of sublingual methyl b12--daily for 3 years now. My husband isn't as diligent as me in taking his active or coenzymated b vitamins. A site you might want to visit is MTHFR.net. The MTHFR mutation is associated with Parkinson's.

I just had an appointment Monday with a neurologist (for part of a study I am in) and I mentioned numbness I my left foot and he immediately mentioned B12 and B6. I give myself s B12 shot once s month, and he said I should go to 2 times a month. Today my Primary Doc approved and prescribed it.

Ask them to test you for b12, folate, and D3.

KsWn this is how I finally got an answer to 25 years of questions a year ago was this numbness. It lead to a nerologist that knew what really needed to be done to get a true diagnosis.I had several test for mini strokes before they finally decided that was not what was going on it was the fact I needed to see my current nerologist and the fact I have PD. Now I have to determine why the numbness so it gets added to my list for my doctor. But thank you

My B12 deficiency requires injections because I do not have “intrinsic factor” which is what causes the body to utilize B12. It is know as pernicious anemia - and without taking the shots I would be very anemic.
