I have had 2 MRIs since DBS. One was of cervical spine, the most recent was to rule out stroke and was of my brain. I had to be cleared by Medtronic, the manufacturer of my device, and by my neurosurgeon. The MRI techs must have had training specific to DBS and a specific MRI machine and magnet was used. I had to turn off my device for the procedure. Mitzi - which ER did Javier go? Who was his neurosurgeon? I receive my care through UCSD. Only CAT scans were used, no MRI. Consquently, no real diagnosis of a stroke. Was evident. Has anyone out there been faced with this problem? I’m wondering why this was not discussed with us before under going operation of DBS.
