I was wondering if there is any better mattress that someone could recommend. We have a soft sided mattress, and my husband has a really hard time getting up from it. Should we have a firm mattress? Any certain brand? Thanks.
The side rail is recommended, by using it you won’t have any problems, graph hold of it get legs out of bed is the hard part then just stand up, simple as this, l was shown how to use it at my weekly Parkinson’s seminar, every one was having trouble getting out of bed another feature we were told about if you are having t o turning over in bed use a Saturn sheet, but not all the way to your feet , get it from a curtain maker allowing enough to tuck in the side of bed, leave your remaining sheet on so it will permit your feet to move.
Hi,
Also, my Mom really benefits from a side rail we picked up from Walgreens. It is very handy to hold onto to get in and out of bed.
Take care.
My husband has a semi firm tempurpedic hybrid. It’s a combination of conventional and tempupedic. They make a more firm one and it’s probably what we should have. The best thing we did was buy the adjustable base. Get an order from your doc and it’s tax free, and you can claim the cost on your fed tax return.
Although my last mattress was medium firm and very expensive, I had problems with rolling over and getting out of bed. I gave it away and purchased a " sleep number bed". IIt has greatly improved my sleep and getting out of bed.
Yes I use a small handrail and it's helpful. I ask so worried about falling out of bed.
