Can PD Cause A Person To Be MORE Allergic To Cats?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I visited my son and family for 6 days over Christmas. I was fine when I drove from Atlanta to Houston but within a few hours of arriving I either began to have a severe reaction to his 2 cats or came down with the flu. I was sick for the entire visit. When I left I began to start feeling much better by the time I reached the Louisiana line. I have always been allergic to cats but never this bad. does PD have an impact on the reaction to cat allergies?

My mom has Parkinson's and she is way more sensitive to allergies now than she used to be. We have had to switch to tide free detergent because anything else makes her itch all over. We had to switch her shampoo a few times as well for the same reason.Sometimes Benadryl at night and Claritin during the day helps with other allergies that pop up.

I have no idea -- but it does seem that something in the environment was causing your illness. Glad you are better now.
