You should have No Problems completing forms online... I did it and was approved in less then 8 weeks without Attorney help..... Secret is to show detailed medical history leading to PD diagnosis.... I took my Neurologist initial diagnosis and sent that along as SSDi requested for supplemental info... Also important to Know a "Start Date" of your total disability.... Such as when you were unable to work and preform your job.... BTW, SSDI is only given to folks before they turn 65+ when normal SS benefit would kick in.... Either Or, not both.... Alan
I got an attorney and was approved first time and only took about 4 wks. Attorney takes a cut of your first check which is retro active to filing date so first check is big
As a matter of fact I can! Are you in Iowa by chance? I have the names of two attorneys that ALL they do is Disability Claims! Got mine, my partners, 2 friends and 2 acquaintances! Regardless- look up Disability Attorneys. Specifically ones that work on a contingency basis. (They don't get paid if YOU don't get paid!) They'll walk you through what you need- handle everything. If you're denied ( unlikely) you get back pay from when you first applied.
I'm a paralegal in Iowa. Unfortunately I've let it go by the wayside due to unforeseeable circumstances.
When you apply, the primary things they look at are your age, work history and diagnosis. The medical forms are very important. I was approved on my first application, but I did consult with an attorney that specializes in disability cases, and she reviewed my application before I submitted it.
You can go online and do that. Now I don't know why but everyone I've talked to that applied was turned down the first time. But you have to wait a couple of months or so and you can reapply. Good luck.
