Was diagnosed with PD 5 years ago. One of my earliest symptoms was acting out my dreams. Poor hubby was getting hit on a regular basis. At the time we didn't know what was causing it. Even with medication I still do this, but less often. If your wife holds on to your wrists and talks to you reassuringly, you may wake up and remember the end of your dream and then be able to go back to sleep. If she isn't strong enough or is still worried, separate beds may be the answer. I daily take sinemet x 10, Entacapone x 5 to support the sinemet, Clonazepam x 1 to help me sleep and use rotigitine patches - 16 mg = 2patches. Hope you can find a way to live with this or your neurologist may be able to help. Wishing you both a good night's sleep.
Melatonin seems to put me into a REM sleep so the active and ugly dreams have stopped.

I’m sleeping in a different room too. I’m not acting out dreams but sometimes thrashing around and it’s difficult for him to sleep. I figure at least one of us needs to get a good nights sleep.
Sounds like REM sleep behavior disorder. I was diagnosed after a sleep study. There are pulmonologists who also specialize in sleep. She prescribed Clonazepam and melatonin.
Same problem here with acting out dreams, also screaming through a nightmare. Beating up my husband and waking him up was a little problem, too. My neurologist put me on clonazepan. It was a little miracle. No more dreams or screaming in my sleep. I still had some tremors in arms and legs during sleep, but nothing like before.
