Hi Deborah and welcome to my team.
this diagram and description may help with your understanding of stages of Parkinson's Disease and there is a load of information across internet on the stages and what they are etc but i found this diagram the simplest to understand. I needed something when my MS Neuro said i was latte stage 3 which at the time meant nothing to me except fear and curiosity. Best Wishes Andy

Parkinson’s progression is usually quite gradual as it is a progressive illness, with symptoms slowly growing worse over time.
Symptoms and responses to treatment vary from person to person, so it is not possible to accurately predict how Parkinson’s will progress. For some people it may take many years for the condition to develop, for others it may take less time.
Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Parkinson...
and Hoehn and Yahr Scale https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoehn_and_Yahr_scale are two scales commonly used.
Wishing All the best for you.
