My mother will decide she wants (for example) to go to the kitchen. She will very suddenly stand/rush without real thought of being careful. This impulsive quickness has caused many falls and near-falls.
That is the reason I had to quit my job as a teacher. Sometimes I would turnaround so fast, I was afraid I would knock a student over. I never did but it was scary just thinking about it. Bean
Agree. Concentration is critical.
They tell me to take big steps and concentrate and say left right it will train your brain to follow your instructions instead of happy hazard walk and falling
I agree. My boyfriend is sound asleep and when he wakes up he gets up and walks to the next room. I feel his falling is because he was not completely awake. I ask him before he gets up drink some water. That gives a couple of minutes to wake up and also gets some fluid.
I'm bad about doing the Parkinson's shuffle I'll remind myself to walk heel to toe what helps
