Looking For A Good Nutritionist And Doctor That Specializes In Parkinson’s In Chester Or Delaware County?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My mom has Parkinson’s and no one has done nutrient testing or spoke to her about her diet. I see her going down hill . Please send me referrals so I can help get her set up with a nutritional plan! I do give her many supplements and nootropics but Im the one who researches everything! She does have hallucinations and I know certain nutrients help slow them. Thanks in advance!

Look up the MIND diet. It is similar to the Mediterranean diet. It is recommended mostly for Alzheimer’s patients but it helps with neuro health overall so I try to do as much as possible to keep those foods in my mom’s diet. Seems to help some. Pumpkin muffins, banana bread and melon seem to help with the constipation but she still needs Linzess to stay even close to regular.

I have lost so much weight. I went to a gastrologist he ran a test on my stomach to see how fast my food is digesting. It is very slow so I am not getting the full benifit of the nutrients from the food. Also my taste has changed food doesn't always taste good. The gastrologist told me it was caused by some of my meds, it has alot to do with PD. You might check this out. I was also told to eat small meals throughout the day and not to eat so much at once. Sharron
