Do you lose your taste buds with Parkinson’s disease? The last couple of weeks my husband says nothing taste the same and he loses his appetite..anyone else experience this?
Smell. Taste. And my nose runs all dame time.
I have a metallic taste in my mouth do I have less of an appetite because food doesn't taste as good
I have had Parkinsons for three years, food to me is unnecessary, but know I have to eat, when first diagnosed Iwas 89kilos that's in Australian terms now down to 66 kilos.Iam now 71, just hoping I don't drop any more. Bit of a laugh isn't it when a woman doesn't want to loose any more weight as we are always wanting to get rid rid of some.
YES!
Food Dad loved, suddenly he does not want anymore.
Also I used to take him Gardenias from my garden. He loved the smell and kept a vase by his bed. The last time I took a Gardenia to him, he complained it smelled terrible!
So YES PD does effect taste and smell.
My appetite has decreased along with my sense of smell. Food doesn't taste like much and I don't know if this is the medication or the Parkinson's.
