Indirectly PD can cause breathing problems because the body's autonomic system that controls many body functions including the automatic muscles movements can be affected. Many people as they get older have shallow breathing anyway due to the fact they don't really do any real physical exercise which causes the lungs to expand their capacity with deeper breathing. PD adds to this problem because your systems muscle control is out of whack.
The only thing you can do is to regularly perform deep breathing exercises throughout the day and in this way retrain your brain to do deeper breathing. It is not an overnight fix and will take a long time to readjust mentally and physically. The hardest part is remembering to actually do it as you go about doing things during the day.

Hi 1oldSpike. For your stomach and gas bloating I suggest you try taking a probiotic capsule at breakfast and a Turmeric capsule with each meal and see if this helps with the digestion process, which I find eliminates most of the gas which is directly caused by faulty digestion.

Exercise can help along with the exercises. I was struggling with breathing and reduced lung capacity and started light cardio and built up slowly. Just do what you can. Helps build up the muscles that are weakening.

Yes your right it might help if you eat 2hrs before meds are due or 2hrs after. As food in stomach can block normal absorbstion.
