In Australia Stalevo is on the free list for PD suffers..We just pay the cost of the prescription set at $6.60 AUD . ..But most chemists charge $5.60..I get two bottles at a time of 150/37.5 Stalevo..200 per bottle total cost $364.89 for $5.60

Wow.!There is no way I could afford to take them if I had to pay the full price...i am on an old age pension of $1069 a fortnight. I have to pay rent, food etc from my pension. My GP is free.We call it a bulk billing doctor. And If he refers me to a neurologist, I can wait and see a free one, or go to one of my choosing.. Mine charges $320 a visit but I get back $260 from the government....We have free hospitals, free operations .free dentists (if you wait).for the dentist. But all emergencies are taken care of immediately..
Our system is called Medicare and was introduced by a "Labor" Democratic Govt. in the 70's. You can chose if you wish to join a Medical Benefits Fund.. Where you get the best of everything for about $120 a week.. But medicare was designed for the poorer less advantaged people. And now the system is being abused by the wealthy who have opted out of the "PAY"fund and have joined the free one...This has caused a tremendous strain on the government. It should be free for the poorer and if your salary is say $100,000 + a year you should be in a "Pay" fund...
It really irks me when I see a Labor politician on $300,000 a year saying that he uses the free fund...
I know in America you pay for everything but if you let Bernie in your economy will collapse overnight... I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER..sorry..People will always abuse any system that is free..
Good luck with your medication..or emigrate to Australia...lol

I agree Jim.... I am not a fan of winter. I go to my sons church in Florida via the internet. I love his church and have made friends with quite a few people there. Also, it gives me a chance to see him and his wife which softens my heart. I speak with him every week but seeing him brings a huge smile to myface. Enjoy your walk and have a great day.

Thank you all for your support. I have Medicare Medex and my drugs through Blue ShieldRx. It kills me that you work all your life paying into the system and get little in return when you retire. This is a rant for another day! I see my doctor in a couple of weeks so maybe we can come up with a plan by then.
