I had 3 surgeries from Nov 2019 thru Jan 2020 to place two electrodes and the electrical device. I am glad to hear that Carissa, also suffering from dystonia had relief from her foot problem. I have truncal dystonia and so far, I have had no relieffrom my abdominal spasms. The one problem that i did have was with my handwriting. My handwriting was fine before surgery, but it became almost illegible right after surgery. I have a hard time handling simple card writing.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, you had dbs done twice, I give you credit for doing that. Once was enough for me. So far I have not seen any results from dbs. Had it done in December 2019. What do you mean it doesnt fix a lot of things? What did it fix for you, or not fix?? Bean

PeggyPetersonLynch,
I had bilateral DBS 7 years ago and have already gone through 3 generators. My settings are as high as they can safely go, for all three of the widths. Since then I have had 8 major surgeries and it takes at least 6 months for me to heal, if I heal. Last year I had 2 surgeries 5 weeks apart and still have not healed. Give yourself time to heal and to find your new settings. I have found that after each surgery my widths have changed. Also, DBS is a great band aide, but your symptoms, in time, will continue to show through or new symptoms many show up that your DBS was not placed for. I went after my tremors and dystonia but my dyskinesia has become much worse, my rigidity also. It all depends on how your body is going to deal with the PD and its natural progression. I wish you luck in healing, but give it time!
