A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Does anyone get shortness of breath and what do you do for it? I have had PD for 20 years and for the past year having shortness of breath once or twice a day.

that's right, it increases when my meds wear off. I forgot to mention. My memory worsens too.

i have shortness of breath often, each day, where i suddenly suck in breathe. It is autonomic dysfunction. I think u have just accept it. When I'm more rested it does seem less frequent.

Thanks Beth. Asthma has been ruled out. It's not a common symptom, but I was told it can happen in people that have had PD long term (20 yrs for me).

Stay safe, it could be asthma which I do have even though I don't have PD. It's a difficult time with covid, I have trouble breathing through a mask esp if I am walking or going up the stairs in my apartment building which I prefer but it is harder for me.
