I got my first shot on 2/2. My am was a little sore but most noticeable
was the stiffness that evening in bed and on the couch. I felt better in 24 hours. I think I needed to get back on my exercise schedule as soon as possible.
Blessings,
Mike
I had my first shot without any issues and the second shot is scheduled for next week. Recommended by the VA.
Got my first shot and didn't have any problems
This is the email I exchanged with my neurologist regarding the COVID 19 vaccination:
When the covid vaccine is available to be given do you think I (person with Parkinson's) should get it? I haven't seen any research on how the vaccine will effect Parkinson's so I feel hesitant therefore I will follow your instructions.
Collette
This is her response:
There is no specific data in regards to recommendations, however, I would recommend the vaccine. It should not affect your parkinsons disease in any way. Patients with autoimmune disease on immunomodulating therapy may see a reduction in efficacy of the vaccine,or it may cause a flare of their disease, but the vaccine should not affect parkinson's patients. At this time, aside from children, we are recommending everyone to get the vaccine. The mRNA is degraded quickly after the injection once the body makes the protein it is suppose to in order to fight the virus.
