Stem Cell Of America

Hi! Has anyone heard of Stem Cell of America? They claim to have helped thousands of parkinson patients with their symptoms. Its located in San Diego but the treatment is in Mexico just over the border in Tiajuana
It involves 4 subcutaneous shots in the tummy and one 1/2 hour intravenous drip of stem cells. I know the research is there but I was strongly considering doing this procedure. Ed Begley Jr the actor had the treatment with great success. I would appreciate any feedback on this and… read more

When Michael J. Fox tells me there is a stem cell treatment to help PD, I am right there with him!

stem cells have not yet been proven safe or effective for PD.

That’s an important point. Because across the world, clinics offer unproven stem cell treatments outside of clinical trials, often for tens of thousands of dollars, creating confusion and often false hope for patients and families. At best, these treatments may hurt only your pocketbook. At worst, they could cause significant side effects.

I did lots of research and found out it is not reliable. Has been shown to cause tumors as well. wish it did works...something out there has to eventually...I hope.

I've read some reliable promising data about the use of stem cells in people with PD but I don't think the research has progressed past animal trials. I think it is a promising approach but needs to be studied further.

I saw the same ad. My doctor advised against it. It has not been thoroughly researched. He said the results can be tragic.
