what is the connection between Parkinsons and Lewy Body Demenita. I understand that everyone having Lewy bodies has parkinsons
There is a good video in the resource section. My husband has Lewy Body Dementia. That means that he has 3 progressive disorders:sleep, Parkinson's and Dementia.
My mom was diagnosed with parkinson's without the tremors 5 years ago. At a recent neurologist appt., the doctor said that it's not the typical Parkinson's but rather Parkinson Plus with Lewy Body. (She's rapidly losing motor abilities which was the reason for the new diagnosis.) This was the first I've ever heard of the "plus". Anyone else hear of this? Thanks.
I was told I have Parkinsonism with Lewey body dementia
Do you know about any clinical studies for slowing down/ stopping progression?
Thank you
I π€ at your (right on)answer in spite of myself
Looking for info on Parkinsons Lewy body Dementia.
There is a good video in resources
cont...He had no other symptoms except the slight things his neurologist picked up on such as gait. (Family had noticed slight cognitive decline. And speech and PT detected slight balance issues that family attributed to strokes.) So all of the advice about what to do for worsening symptoms, etc doesn't seem to apply. Because thus far, none of his symptoms are at all significant. Is it possible he may only suffer from cognitive issues? Or is the worst yet to come? How many people get Lewy Body?
Wow! Thank you!
Yes most definitely
Has anyone that was diagnosed with PD had the diagnosis upgraded to LBD (Lewy Body Disease)? If so, what led to the change in the Diagnosis?
I was changed from PD to LBD because I was having hallucinations. No tremors or movement symptoms.
