My husband has tried all types of medication for his tremor predominant parkinson....nothing seems to help with his tremor.
What has helped others? Any other type of treatment?
good to know!
My husband has tremor predominant parkinson.
Seems like he has tried all medication. Those help with rigidity but not the tremors.
Praying for a miracle.
Any suggestions??
Is he ready to consider DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation)? That can make a big difference in stopping tremors.
Nothing is guaranteed. It's frustrating.
My mom needs care and my sister and I cannot provide the care that she needs. We were exploring our options and these two were our top two. We tried skilled nursing in the past but it was too much of a hospital setting and my mom didnt get her medication on time (often an hour after) which led her to have panic attacks. We arent sure that assisted living would be any better OR try to afford private one on one care but we dont have the $ for that at the moment.

I'm looking for a better mobility aid than walkers or rollators. This device is pricey ($3800) but clever. Lots of information on their site, but only one paid review. Has anyone here tried it out?

I read the book, Parkinson's and B1 Therapy by Daphne Bryan PhD
She explains everything you need to know about dosing, what kind of B1 to buy, and why.
Doc said it was time to move on from all the Rytary. She wants us to think about DBS or a different procedure that puts a tube into your stomach (I think) that pumps in the meds directly. I would like to find out about both. My husband has been treated for PD since
Summer 2016.
Does one preclude the other?
Should one be tried first?
What is the med that they pump in the second one?
Well, I like to swim, workout daily, and more, so it would be a pain for me to (and I don't think it is recommended , that u need to disconnect when u are doing some activities. And it would be… read more
I feel the same way will ask for something else
This non-evasive treatment is being used now around the country at major medical facilities. The success rate is very good.
