I am trying to find a cell phone that is easier for my brother to use. He is in the last stages of Parkinson's and doesn't use his phone much except as a phone. He currently has an iPhone but finds the keys small and the swiping hard to use. He does use an iPad but the swiping is hard with that in the new model. Any advice about a good phone to use?

I never tried the JitterBug yet, but AARP always has an ad in their newspaper for that senior-focused phone. Great question!

Thanks for you comments. I attended one of my brother's doctor appointments and I asked her at what stage he was. She showed me a chart that shows all the symptoms that a person with Parkinson's would have and she said is was in the last stage. I wish I had gotten a copy of the chart. His hands shake and so it is hard to use a phone like an iPhone that doesn't have buttons.

Glad you have an appointment with a movement specialist -- that will make a huge difference for you! I do not understand your other doctor's comment. Doctors are really hard to communicate with sometimes. When people say things that floor me, I just freeze -- I never know what to say next to get more information or to try to clarify their response. Actually, thinking about this now, is helping me. I will try to remember to say: "What do you mean?" Have to laugh at myself because it seems simple writing it out. But in the moment, I just freeze and become silent.
