My husband was diagnoised with Parkinsons in 2020. He now has pain and weekness in his arms. His doctor thinks that he might have Polymyalgia and has referred him to a rheumatologist. I'm curious if anyone else has these same symptoms?
I had to fight and get appointments with who I needed to see. Took me over 2 years. Ask your medial group for referral to parksinson doc or neurology. I used to be a case manager and if they deny, yourr appeal, do a second level appeal and then ask how to refer to your States Insurance commission. That one usually scares then
Good Luck
I used to before I started my strength exercises. I couldn’t reach above my shoulders or behind my back without stiffness and pain. I now have full motion in my arms and shoulders. If I am sore, after a full night sleep, I move around, stretch for ~30 minutes in the am and the soreness subside.
I have horrendous arm pain Terri. I spray magnesium oil on my arms. I use Icy Hot gel on my arms. I soak in an apple cider vinegar bath( add about 2 cups ACV to warm bath) Soak 20-30 minutes. You can also add epsom salt, sea salt, baking soda, few drops of peppermint oil(not too much or it will burn)
I wish your husband relief. And, GOD BLESS YOU TERRI. I know it must be extremely tough to be the caregiver. You are appreciated I know.🙏
Parkinsons is complicated. My husband does have a team of doctors, including a movement disorder specialist, a sleep doctor, a general practioner plus a psychiatrist. They did not seem to think this symptom was related to Parkinsons so they asked him to see his general practioner. That doctor sent him to a rheumotologist. It could be that he does have an additional disease; however, I was curious if anyone else has the same symptoms.
This is a good reminder for us. Especially liked the graphic of the iceberg tremors at top and that is what people see but a whole bunch of symptoms lie below the water.
