With Parkinson's do you get muscle aches and pains? How about being tired all the time?
Yes and yes.
Parkinson’s can give you many types of pain and can make your existing pain more severe. It’s important to tell your neurologist about any pain you are having. A lot of people think their pain is something else and are quite surprised to find out it’s from Parkinson’s. Your neurologist can give you something for this. You don’t need to endure it.
Exhaustion is a very common symptom of Parkinson’s. Once again your neurologist can give you something for it. Some people handle it differently, as the medications can really add up. They get up in the morning and get active. If their tired in the afternoon they may nap, but they set an alarm to make sure they don’t sleep to long. You’ll always find night owls here, because insomnia is also a symptom of Parkinson’s.
What kind of meds did you get?
My mom gets really bad cramps and pains in legs at night and it is so bad sometimes it wakes her up. She also gets tired during the afternoon but it could also be from the problems with her heart. My mom has been falling a lot and it is really hard to get her to use a walker because she insists she can walk without the walker.
It varies from person to person. I don't have any pain but my balance is terrible and I have some shaking in my hands. I'm also not tired all the time. I use a walker when I'm at the VA hospital but not when I'm at home. I also sometimes use a walker other places when I'm not at home.
I take Levadopa /Carbidopa, Requip, Aricept and Namenda.I still have the tremors, so my doctor started me on Trihexypen.
