A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am only 60 but am having a hard time taking care of my house and am not comfortable driving anymore. I am having a lot of dizziness.

I can’t do housework anymore because it totally exhausts me and I don’t drive anymore. It’s not fun having Parkinson’s.

I would go to the Dr. First, and ask him that question.

It depends on how much you can do for yourself and what kind of Assisted Living places are available where you live and what amenities they offer. If money is an issue, you might want to hire someone to come in a few times a week to help with things that are too much for you, as long as you can still handle most of the daily chores like cooking and bathing.

I know there are a lot of people here who are in Assisted Living facilities who have shared some of their experiences - both good and bad. Hopefully some will be able to tell you what moved them to make the decision to go into A.L.

Hi Anne, once again l’ve ried to message you but the messages have disappeaed before I’ve posted them . It’s so long since l laast managed to send you a messagel can’t remember what l’ve aalready told you. Don’t think l told you about going to hospitalwhen l thoughtl’d dislocated my hip. I’ve hadthe hip replaced and had the replacement revised. I had my first surgery on that hip whhen l was 11. The A&E doctor who looked at thhe Xray first said he wasn’t prepared to do anything with it. They got my wonderful oorthopaedic surgeon to have a look and hesaid that it wasn’t disloccated but that the hole in my femur was getting bigger and the rest of the femur was really thin. He ordered me not to fall. Then this afternooon Tony managed. To tip me out of the wheelchaiir and l finished up on the floor. Fortunately a. Young lad came down the road and helpeed Tony to pick me up. I don’t think Tony wwould have been able to get me up on his own. It was a bit embarrassing but l wasgrateful to the lad. Fortuately l wasn’t hurt but it gave me a shhock.
