I had this problem for a short time. My neurologist said this occurs if they are not taken four hours apart. The Carbidopa has only a 4 hour period of effectiveness. I am now taking them at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators), and 1900.

To fight the feeling of tiredness I nap everyday from 1400 to1500.

I hope this can help others!

God Bless

Susan 426 is 100% right. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it but try to keep as active as possible. It really does help.

Feeling tired in my personal experience is from both the PD and the c/l also. About 1 1/2 to 2 hours after a dose of c/l, I start yawning many times, which does stop.

Hi Sue, I have looked into this and both make you tired. So you are getting a double whammy.

Are you asking about [[treatment:Levodopa/Carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]] for Parkinson's disease? Here is some detailed information:

Overview
- Combination Drug: [[treatment:Levodopa/Carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]] is a combination prescription drug used to treat motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease and some types of Parkinsonism.
- Mechanism: Levodopa is converted to dopamine in the brain, helping to manage motor symptoms. Carbidopa prevents the breakdown of Levodopa before it reaches the brain, making it more effective at lower doses.

Usage
- Dosage: Typically taken three or four times a day, 30 minutes to one hour before meals to ensure efficient absorption.
- Dietary Considerations: Avoid high-protein or high-fat diets and iron supplements as they can interfere with absorption. If nausea occurs, take with a small amount of carbohydrate food like a plain cracker.

Side Effects
- Common: Nausea, vomiting.
- Precautions: Avoid driving or operating machinery until you understand how the medication affects you. Do not stop taking it suddenly; consult your doctor for a gradual dosage reduction plan.

Special Considerations
- Not Suitable For: People with undiagnosed skin lesions, narrow-angle glaucoma, or a history of melanoma. Also, those with hypersensitivity to Levodopa or Carbidopa.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: May not be appropriate for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Additional Information
- Brand Names: Sold under names like Sinemet, Parcopa, and Duopa.
- Formulations: Available in both generic and branded forms, which may affect individuals differently.

Always follow your doctor's instructions exactly when taking [[treatment:Levodopa/Carbidopa:55d534f51fcaa397470006dd]]. If you have any concerns or experience side effects, consult your healthcare provider.
