RJ: Greetings! Keep up with the exercise. That has done me more good than the meds. I would suggest looking up gut dysbiosis and Parkinson's. Apparently, new studies are showing that PD is closely tied to gut health. I am focused on that now. I am consulting with a Clinical Nutritionist who will be working with me along those lines.
So your daughter wants to be a Clinical Laboratory Scientist? I would ask her why? She needs to really understand what it is all about and if she would find real happiness in that.
It is a considerably high-stress profession. I entered the profession at a time when things were a lot different than they are today. Technology has changed the field dramatically.
Over the past 50+ years, I evolved with the system and was able to stay productive till retirement. I worked in different areas over the years. I have the most experience in chemistry. I spent about ten years working in a Blood Bank at a major hospital. The last fifteen years of my career were probably the most rewarding. It was in the field of infertility. I managed a small infertility laboratory for about ten years. An unfortunate
disabling accident forced one of the infertility doctors to take a medical disability. I was offered a position at a major IVF Center where I worked till I retired.
I would suggest contacting the School of Allied Health and speaking to someone in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science. It is a four-year program. It is not too uncommon that some of the students use this degree as a stepping stone to move on to other areas in the medical profession.
