I was seeing an incredible psychologist for 10 years before he retired. He helped and guided me through other serious health problems especially congestive heart failure, 2 stints, angina, and a heart attack (not to leave out a phenomenal cardiologist--who I saw last week-‐and I am doing great). I like to include great news, also. I was seeing another psychologist at the beginning of PD questions. Unfortunately, she passed away. I have not found anyone else. I know that I would benefit from the help, but I am just waiting for something. I really recommend seeing someone who has the training and experience for your Mom. Blessings, JudyTx 🌹

Has anyone used a psychologist to help a Parkinson’s patient deal with accepting the diagnosis and the symptoms ?? My mom has been denied her diagnosis for a long time but today she told me she wants to learn about her illness and know what to expect. I worry that letting her read about Parkinson’s and the outcome will give her more anxiety and worsen the symptoms. Maybe speaking to someone that can guide her to understand and deal with it, would help
