Are You Taking Selegiline (Zelapar)? How Is It Going For You?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My neurologist prescribed selegiline (Zelapar) on my latest visit. I have read about side effects (dizziness, nausea, headache), but I feel like people's tales are typically better to understand what to expect than a summary of those side effects. I am hesitating on this since it would be my first medication for Parkinson's. I'm not on levodopa, but taking mucuna pruriens (supplement).

My husband was prescribed that on his second or third visit to his neurologist. He was also taking c/l. It didn't seem to make any difference for him, so given the possible side effects he stopped taking it. He didn't actually have any side effects, but it didn't seem worth while. I think his doctor was really premature in ordering that and then Amantadine so early in his diagnosis. He stopped that one as well, for the same reason.
