My wife is on a generic Exelon patch called Rivastigmine. It's been less than two weeks that she's been on it so I haven't seen any difference yet. I have read that it can take up to 12 weeks to take full effect and that the dosage may need to be increased incrementally.

My husband Eddie has been on Donepezil with good results for his PD and dementia for the last few years. His MDS and sleep doc just decided to switch him to the Exelon patch, maybe two weeks ago. I was nervous because when they put him on 10 mg of Donepezil about two years, his dementia really got “in check.” But apparently Exelon is good at helping R.E.M. sleep disorder which Eddie has very bad. But I haven’t seen anything that makes it seem like the Exelon isn’t working as well as Donepezil. And no side effects noticed. His R.E.M. sleep disorder has definitely been better, too. I hope you and your husband find it helpful and wish you both the best!
