I finally got my new medication! It is selegiline 5 mg. Is anyone else on this? What is your experience with it?

I use oral selegiline. I do use a patch (NeuPro) which is a different med.

Selegiline for me has a stimulant effect which helps with weakness, drowsiness, and fatigue.

Dear Theodora, I have drug sensitivity, too. Between the drugs, interactions, problems with other health issues, or just doesn't work, I am very hesitant to try anything else. At least what I have is tolerable for now. Bless us all as we try to remain stable. Love you, JudyTx πŸŒΉπŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚

Hi Merrilee,
I have not heard of it or taken it but this is what I found out about it on the Mayo website.
You may want to learn more about it so I included the Mayo website. Hope this is helpful.
Be sure not to make any changes without speaking with your doctor but I recommend you document any changes you feel while on this med so you can help your doctor makes decisions and dosing, timing and whether to discontinue or continue this med.
Please keep us informed about your experience with this med since it is new to many of us.

Selegiline is used in combination with levodopa or levodopa and carbidopa combination to treat Parkinson's disease (sometimes called "shaking palsy" or "paralysis agitans"). This medicine works to increase and extend the effects of levodopa, and may help to slow the progress of Parkinson's disease.

I use a selegeline patch. Best med I’ve used. Been on it for 8 years with no side effects.
