It can be quick or slow. I was told (forcefully) at Diagnosis by my fiesty Neuro, over 9 years ago, that daily hard cardio is the only thing proven in a double blind study to slow it down. Hard breathless exercise with elevated HR for 20 or minutes everyday! I was seriously out of shape and 35+ lbs overweight. I could barely do 10 minutes the first day. But everyday I was back at it and increased my stamina. I also strongly believe that dietary changes (low carb, vegetarian/Pescatarian) helped as well. I lost 30 lbs the first year. My symptoms are still mild and don't require meds.
