Pharmaceutical information I have read suggests to me that this medication might not be beneficial
I have had REM Sleep Disorder for many years and as the years passed my meds had to be increased when I would break through. I was up to 4 1/2 -1mg Xanax. When I changed Neurologist he put me on 1 Clonazepam at night. The first night I was screaming and back to my old fighting days. I called him and he increased my dosage. I take 2 Clonazepam at night and for now it seems to be keeping me stable. I also take 1/2 Clonazepam in the morning and 1/2 Clonazepam in the afternoon for Anxiety Disorder. I have had no issues at all taking Clonazepam even at these dosages. I am grateful there is a med like Clonazepam to help both of my problems.
Rule 1: ask a professional, not an amateur, however invested they may be.
Translation: go back to the doc who prescribed it and voice your concerns. Get them to explain.
If you're using the internet, be aware the current state of affairs is that you may find equal support for both sides of any given argument.
eg.is the earth flat or round?
My wife ( 67 ) has been taking Clonazepam 0.5 mg for several years. It has worked fine for her . She sleeps well.
My 74 yr old brother has PD. He is on c/l and initially was taking Seroquel and melatonin at night. Melatonin stopped helping. Dr said to stop that and prescribed 1/2 of a .5mg tablet at night, with the Seroquel. Brother was ok for months., then lately was not able to sleep at night. He started taking the whole .5mg at night and can now sleep.
Before I ever considered parkinson's. I took Clonazepam 5.0 twice a day
For my anxiety disorder but after couple of years it stopped working for me and have worked with several types of anti-anxiety meds
Without much success . Now that I have started taking C/L
My anxiety is better controlled.
