Teresa, I agree, there are days I lose because the pain is indescribable. My care team has no idea how to help me, because the meds they've tried I end up with adverse reactions. My husband says the pain didn't seem as bad preDBS surgery but I disagree. The motor symptoms divert attention away from the nonmotor symptoms, masking them.
Good morning Teresa. I'm so sorry you are experiencing so much pain. Hugs and prayers coming your way.
I'm sure the last thing you want to hear or do when you are in so much pain is stretch but truly, if you are not stretching each day now, please try. It may not end the pain but I really do believe that it will relieve it a bit.

Thanks for your input and for your service Bill. I'm sure I could learn a lot from you. Do you participate in any of the research studies- PPMI or brain health? I've been in both for 2-3 yrs. But I don't have nearly as much as you do to offer.
Btll, you raise a good point Bill about assistance for folks with PD. I have been told that some of the pharm companies will cover deductibles for people with PD and that their are personal grant opportunities to help pay for expenses related to PD but I can't find access to the grants on line. I know you have to apply for discounts for specific meds directly with the pharm company who makes the specific med. Like many things, it is not easy to find this info or get actual help.
I'm going to post a question to the Foundation to see if they can help direct us to grants and medication assistance programs for folks with PD. Thanks for speaking up. Let's see if we can find those resources out there and share with our PD community. In the meantime, I pray the VA helps you in every way possible. We can never repay you for all that you have done to keep us safe.
