This segment on 60 Minutes this evening, 1/14/24, reviewed the progress being made with using focused ultrasound to reduce symptoms in AD, PD and now, addiction. This work is being done at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute in West Virginia by Dr Rezai. This was the most promising PD research I have seen thus far . For more info please go to neurologylive.com to read an article written by Ali Razai, MD, the leading neurologist researching FUS.
I had the focused ultrasound procedure for Parkinson’s about two years ago and I’m quite pleased with the results.
Yes, That doctor is thinking outside the box. Someday his research could deliver even more to us.
I saw this and it was amazing!
I had tremors in my right arm. No noticeable tremor on my left arm, which made me a candidate for the focused ultrasound procedure. After the procedure, tremors on my right arm are greatly reduced. Now, about two years later, tremors on my left arm are starting to become more apparent. My Doctor has advised against having the procedure on both sides because of possible complications.
