UK doctors won't prescribe Clonazepam for Parkinson's...despite a lot of US sites and US citizens on here saying it gives relief to REM sleep disorder, tremor, dyskinesia AND anxiety/depression, all of which I'm suffering from.

They will however dispense Citalopram, Sertraline, Mirtazapine and Prozac, all of which gives risks of Serotonin syndrome and other serious side effects, some of which DO NOT STOP even if you stop taking the drug.

Sometimes I question the motives behind what is… read more

I'm on hydroxyzine as needed for extreme anxiety, when I can't lay down sit walk, and feel like exploding, I take one, I call it my happy pill, after a period I'm myself able to function normal.

If medications give us bad side effects we should take to our doctor as soon as possible. Do you ever think that maybe we are being tested?

Nigel, I was previously on the medication’s that you mentioned for my anxiety, but my psychiatrist decided to take me off of them because they do more harm than good. You should probably discuss with your neurologist the possibility of being prescribed propanolol, which is a medication to assist with reducing tremors but at the same time it’s curious that it’s also used as an antianxiety medication, I hope that you start feeling better, but your neurologist probably is the one who better Prescribe medication. Take care and be safe big hugs from the US Arthur.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member yeah legal in limited trials in UK too…I tried both CBD and THC versions. CBD calmed my anxiety a bit, though it doesn’t seem to be coping now.

THC gave me a headache. No high, just a sense of growing paranoia. Given it up as a bad job, but still taking the CBD for now…though as the clinic are treating me like poo at the moment (I missed a telephone appointment because my doctor called me at the same time, and even though I called them back TWICE within two minutes, they want to charge me a full £50 fee to book another) maybe not for long. The clinic seems to be all about money. Hell I think I could get Heroin for cheaper than they charge me for a tiny bottle of hemp-flavoured Sesame oil…
