Robin... Have not been able to pin point this issue.. But the swelling is there also... it comes and goes and what you listed may be the answer.. Tks JD
Was she diagnosed with Parkinson's? If she was I would say it's a great possibility. I also have psoriatic arthritis. Sometimes it's hard to tell which is which. Arthritis is associated with the joints, so if it's a joint it's typically arthritis. If it's anything else, it could be "Piriformis syndrome" which causes pain or numbness in your butt, hip or upper leg. It occurs when the piriformis muscle presses on the sciatic nerve. The condition may be caused by injury, swelling, muscle spasms or scar tissue in the piriformis. Most episodes go away in a few days or weeks with rest and simple treatments. (Info from the Cleveland Clinic.) This occurs when I sit for long periods. Makes driving very painful and difficult. Either way, a Neurologist that specializes in movement disorders would need to be seen.
