My neurologist has ordered a DaTscan because he thinks I may have FND rather than PD.

Hi Ann - no, I did not have a SYN One test. The neurologist is basing this decision on the lack of PD symptoms, both motor and cognitive. I guess we'll see what turns up. I'll let you know.
Best to you as you seek answers.

Hi Tracey,
I was thinking of doing the DaTscan , as my SYN One test and my Genetic testing aren’t showing anything that says” PD.”
Did you happen to have the SYN One test, by chance and if so what were the results, please?

FND is like a software glitch in the brain while PD is more like a hardware problem. A DaTscan will show changes in the brain structure that are due to PD but there are no structural issues in FND. FND may be due to emotional trauma and can cause PD-like motor, cognitive, and emotional symptoms.
