County New York thanks in advance
Yes my husband just started LSVT therapy (Big & Loud) and it is recommended for PD patients. Make sure the therapist is a certified LSVT therapist, not all are
Suggest you find a therapy group that offers the Big&Loud program that includes the three disciplines. Assuming you are the patient, your movement disorder specialist should know of a therapy practice. See here for more: https://www.apdaparkinson.org/wp-content/upload...
Sorry I live in Atlanta and use Emory. My best tip is to be sure the therapist and is one on one. Too many places the therapist see several patients at one time. I broke my hip after another surgery and was weak causing me to fall. First thing I looked for is somewhere that does one on one therapy. Being I live in Atlanta I go to the Emory Parkinson’s Clinic.
One on one therapy is the best! Ask your neurologist for recommendations.
Big and Loud at your local hospital or physical therapy office. Check it out.
