The only good thing about vascular parkinsonism is that it's not progressive; no 5 stages; it's still not easy, but should not deteriorate more. I can skip a dose of Levodopa and get away with it. It does on occasion make me fall asleep unawares; my issue with levodopa is that it causes heartburn. I have searched for a remedy and aloe Vera juice works as does eating an apple.
If it weren't for the severe pain of severe osteoarthritis, I think I could function better.

The severity of Parkinson's disease is primarily determined by how much symptoms impact daily activities and quality of life. In mild cases (Stages 1-2), motor symptoms may only affect one side of the body or both sides mildly, with minimal interference in daily routines. People can typically live independently, though some tasks may take longer to complete.

The transition to moderate Parkinson's (Stage 2.5-3) occurs when balance becomes affected and motor symptoms begin interfering more significantly with daily activities. At this point, people may start experiencing more noticeable changes in posture, walking difficulties, and may require some assistance with personal care tasks. It's important to note that Parkinson's progression is highly individual. Some people may experience a slower progression over many years, while others might advance more quickly through the stages. Neurologists use specific rating scales, including the Hoehn and Yahr scale and the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), to track symptom progression and determine disease severity.
