Hey Lady, welcome!! Yes to all holistic options for PD!! There are 3 groups full of these conversations on here - natural remedies, movement/exercise and food/nutrition!!! A lot of great info shared and worth your time ... many things with PD like many health issues are subjective!!! My main issue is fatigue and have been actively working on that, including rearranging supplements, nutrition and body movements changing the focus from performance to healing!! This PD is a struggle but could be way worse and actually now a challenge to overcome!!! Best of luck with your journey 🙏💞🙌

Yes, many people use holistic approaches alongside traditional treatments for Parkinson's disease. Exercise has shown significant benefits - including walking, stationary biking, yoga, tai chi, dancing, and no-contact boxing. These activities can help increase strength and agility while improving overall quality of life. Some MyParkinsonsTeam members report using exercise to help manage their "off" periods.

For stress management, which can worsen PD symptoms, many find relief through breathing exercises, massage therapy, meditation, and acupuncture. These relaxation techniques can help improve overall wellbeing and symptom management. Regarding nutrition, following diets like the Mediterranean or MIND diet may support brain health and help manage certain symptoms like constipation and fatigue. Some members have reported benefits from supplements like vitamin B12 and Mucuna pruriens, though it's crucial to discuss any supplements with your healthcare team before starting them, as they can interact with medications or potentially worsen symptoms.

Remember that while holistic approaches can be beneficial for symptom management and quality of life, they work best when combined with your prescribed medical treatment plan. The key is finding the right combination of approaches that work for your specific situation.
