@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I take 4 capsules of 95 mg 4 times a day. I suppose it could make you lose your balance, but more than likely, Parkinson's is simply causing you more problems. You might actually need more Rytary, but you might be correct in thinking that you are taking too much. You need to talk to your doctor about what you are experiencing.

Are cold, numb legs and balance issues related to Rytary dosing?

Cold legs and numbness could be related to Parkinson's itself rather than overdosing. Parkinson's can affect your autonomic nervous system, which controls body temperature regulation. Some people with Parkinson's experience problems keeping warm, and cold-related symptoms can worsen stiffness and other motor symptoms.

Balance problems are a common Parkinson's symptom that can appear during "off" periods when medication effects wear off. Since you're taking Rytary every 3.5 hours, you might be experiencing "wearing off" symptoms before your next dose. What you should do:

It's important to contact your doctor about these symptoms. They can help determine if:

* Your dosing schedule needs adjustment
* You're experiencing "off" time symptoms
* The cold and numbness are related to temperature regulation issues from Parkinson's
* Your balance problems indicate medication wearing off

Track when these symptoms happen in relation to your medication doses. This information will help your doctor understand what's going on and adjust your treatment plan if needed.

Don't stop or change your medication without talking to your doctor first, as stopping Parkinson's medications suddenly can be dangerous.
