Does Anyone Have Suggestions Regarding Staying Asleep.
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have no problem going to sleep but find in the middle of the night my hand tremors wake me up and end up tossing and turning most of the night without a restful sleep. Sometimes I do not believe I have any REM sleep cycles. Currently taking Elivil 20 mg (non addictive or habitual) and somewhat helps a little. Open to hear of your suggestions. Many thanks.......

Thank you for your help. The gummy’s are very helpful for getting sleep. My mobility is ok. My biggest problem is my stomach. Constantly being nauseous.

Learn The Basics Of Non-motor Symptoms Of PD And What You Can Do
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Parkinson’s disease is generally thought of as a disease that only involves movement. But in addition to so-called motor symptoms such as slowness of movement, tremor and stiffness, most people develop other health problems related to Parkinson's. These symptoms are diverse but are collectively known as non-motor symptoms.

It’s important to realize that non-motor symptoms are common and can be more troublesome and disabling than motor symptoms. That’s why you should watch for these symptoms and… read more

Does Anyone Else Experience Freezing And Balance Loss When Approaching A Door Being Opened Towards You?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Twice in the last month i have frozen and began to fall backwards when a door i was walking to was being opened outward towards me. The first time i wasn’t expecting it,was on a wheelchair ramp going up and felt like my brain was confused by the door. Feet wouldn’t move and i was falling backwards before it felt like my brain re engaged. The second time was yesterday, same thing but this time i saw the person and knew they were opening the door but again it felt like my brain switched off and i… read more

Anyone Else Lost Lots Of Weight Since Developing Pd?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have no dyskinesias yet and assumed they might cause weight loss. However, over the past year, i lost 50 lbs and was dangerously thin.. Had no appetite and lots of GI upset. This started after surgery following which my GI tract shut down completely for 3 weeks. Horrible pain and couldn't absorb my pd meds. After all the weight loss, I had a clean bill of health from a gastroenterologist. Doing some research reading, I discovered that pd folks are at very high risk of SIBO (small intestinal… read more

AtreMorine, Montelukast, Cannabnoids, Benedryl, Liquid Nicotine, beets, and Inosine to name a few dopamine replacement alternatives. You can explore these for yourself. I Would Like To Know How Many People Can Say They Have Daily, Ongoing Pain Of Some Sort Since They Got Parkinson.
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have been having terrible back pain. I had therapy, but it did not help. I have to constantly wear Volteran Gel or wear Salonpas pads on my back and neck. This pain keeps me for being able to do many things. I have osteoarthritis also, mostly in my hands and neck. I thought perhaps it had moved into my back, but am thinking Parkinson has more to do with my pain. Is anyone else going through this?🥺

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member

I believe many situations that God allows if not for our healing and benefits it is for others. He knows our pain and frustration but He is most interested in how we deal with it. I’ve had a lot of… read more
