Lately I have been freezing and my legs move but not forward. It's like I'm standing there doing some weird dance. I was thinking of lowering my carbidopa/lepodopa. I take 3 pills a day. I hear that some people substitute amino acids for the carbidopa.
What are the amino acid that you take and how are the results. I have been on carbidopa/lepodopa for 10 years

My legs froze before I was ever on any medication so in my case it was not the meds
I don't know what causes the freezing but I do know that with my husband it would come and go before his DBS surgery. He would freeze and he found that to get moving again he had to make a large sweeping movement with his arms. Once he did, he would be able to move easier. Around the house he would swing his arms widely as he walked to keep from freezing and it worked for him. Hope you find relief.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, Hi Mona. If this is your first visit with the movement specialist, you now have an established baseline visit. Any future visits will be compared to this one. Your specialist may feel that he is at the right place in medications and did not see a need for change. This is good!! He was not under or over medicated. Sounds to me you had a good visit!
Ron has seen a movement disorder specialist but he didn't change anything or add to what are Neuro was doing--we went to Houston to be seen. It really wasn't helpful.
Jack they increased my carbi-levo dopa to 4 pills a day. I take the immediate released in the morning and then the ER extended release until bedtime. It's really helped with the freezing especially when I'm turning around.
