Tremors Stopped?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had tremors at the start of their disease process and after a number of years, lose them? This has happened to me. Imbalance became a bigger issue and the tremors were essentially gone.

Hi Ward,
I had/have DBS on my agenda, however a/p my neuro, my meds are not right YET. My current Meds for me, do not seem to produce overall symptom relief, to do DBS yet. My neuro says I need to feel good", T-H-E-N they will consider DBS.for me.
Was this your experience? Any suggestions? Thanks - Joanne

Thanks Ward! You are the 1st actual PD owner that I have ever communicated with. Thanks so much for sharing with me. I am hoping you have the time to read more of my PD tale (to follow),and give me your comments? (PLEASE KNOW - I MEAN NO PRESSURE or Demands on you - I am just weighing my options & I am very interested, in your experience & thoughts, since you have already done this DBS thing??)
I suppose I am hoping that the DBS procedure helps with OTHER PD symptoms too? I saw neuro on 8/31/2015. I arrived with a 3 page laundry list of my negative PD issues I am experiencing. Just felt my neuro needs to know all my issues...Neuro did read & discuss with me all 3 pages.Trust me, tremors was NOT at the top of my list...In addiittion to DBS does NOT cure PD, but it may reduce PD symptoms & your need for some of your PD meds. One of my neuro's points to me, RE:DBS, is that > While doing DBS: the brain is tricked into copying how your body is feeling - at the time of your DBS procedure. Therefore it is imperative that my PD meds enable me to "feel good" (for me my PD laundry list to me neuro included: pain over all my body, total body stiffness & rigidity, difficulty moving, walking, cooking, cleaning, balance issues, fatigue, performing almost all activities of daily living. In addition: my fingers & hands are not the same functioning & getting worse). Therefore, because, if I am NOT feeling good, at the time I have DBS, my brain will be tricked to feel "not good" - OR - exactly the way I was feeling when DBS was done & COPY that feeling & duplicate it. So I will always feel BAD & have all the symptoms - or something like that....
Maybe this makes no sense the way I have described it...but I am just trying to be involved & stay on top of my options...
Ward, any comments you have will be appreciated...Thanks, Joanne

I had tremors pretty bad and then they just weakened. I still have them just not as strong. Thankfully I can still crochet.
