My neurologist sent me to the Parkinson's Speciality Clinic at KUMC to see a motion specialist that works with Person's living with Parkinson's Disease. I have a copy of his letter to her but she doesn't want to follow his instructions wanting me to see a counsellor to handle my anti-depressive. And that what balance I have lost is gone. You as the patient have the biggest stake it all of this, if you are not being heard by your doctor, you need to find one that will hear you. I am so blessed my Primary Physician is the Greatest, and I always feel heard. She over sees all of my medications and every thing having to do with ME. I couldn't ask for a better Physician. Bless her.
I am never still but I cannot to the drunk foot in front of the foot and can't bend over sitting in a chair without being off balance. He was specific no bouncing balls, no treadmills, no drunk walk or bending over... those are all seriously cause me to loose my balance . No safety belt and they are at least five feet away and not able to catch me if I start to fall.... the whole rest of the day I am moving every way I can... my Left shoulder had froZen and I can now wash my head with it reaching up and over. Using the cane I can even walk the dogs. The therapist (counclor) says not to do them but then the therapist says I am refusing which puts my payment in doubt... Catch 22
YOU ARE IN CHARGE! Are you seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist? Every other neurologist is practicing Neurology Lite! IMHO.
I am confused by my husband's different meds for different problems. I wish I could find a "concierge neurologist" who would take lots of time talking to us about what is going on and help us organize and handle all the meds he takes. Any suggestions, anyone?
went to a PD seminar this past Saturday in Nashville.

Tai Chi is one of the best for balance and motion :)
