My dermatologist recommends 5mg of Biotin plus Silica (made by Solgar) daily. The Biotin is pretty easy to come by, but the Silica is more difficult to find. You can order it over the Internet. However, I still have problems. I am going to talk wih him again to see what I should do next. you might want to talk to your doctor.

I didn't associate my now brittle nails with PD until I just read this. My nails have always been hard as rocks and beautiful. They were always the envy of my friends, but now they break easily and crack and split. Hmmmmmmmm

My doctor put my on prenatal vitamins. I too was losing toe nails and my fingernails were vere brittle. I no longer have the problem. I also use eye drops and nasal spray for dryness. Coconut oil for my skin for private areas and take collagen.

@lone thanks for your response. It is a lifting from the nail but it concerns me the most. I can usually get the splitting repaired when I have a manicure. However there doesn't seem much to be done lifting from the nail bed. Unfortunately, it is happening on both of my thumbs and it is pretty hard not to use your thumbs !😊
