I just got started doing this in my home and hope that it helps. I know that I feel like it clears my mind when I am doing it.
Please check online. It has really changed my outlook on life in just a very short period of time!
I have been going to Rock Steady Boxing since November of last year. I go to classes outside my home. It has started to help my balance. It certainly helps psychologically. If there is a RSB program that you can go to, I'd check it out
I am trying to get a class in the Lake county area of Illinois. The hospital where I live close to, is looking into it. They have heard lots of good things about Rock Steady Boxing. I have been in contact with one of the trainers in the city of Chicago and he is working on getting us a trainer out here. All you people in the Northern part of Illinois please keep in touch so I can let you know when it will be available. Keep your fingers crossed!
I was told by one of the gals in my strength and tone class about a show she saw on tv that talked about boxing and how it helps people with Parkinsons. I use the boxing movements in my workout and feel like my mind is so much clearer and I feel so much steadier after about 10 minutes of off and on boxing movements with my upper body.
Non contact boxing that is specifically for Parkinson's disease patients. Good information online.
